NO more cheesecakes
I think all of us should appreciate the efforts of the baker whenever we drop by cafes for cheesecake. Yes, savour every mouthful and say, "Mmmm". LOL. I didnt think baking cheesecakes requires so much effort and technique until we did hands-on today. Yuppers, Mz and I decided to pop by Carol's place (because she has almost all the baking equipment) to try baking cakes instead of cookies since I have this recipe titled "Lily's traditional cheesecake". However, we didnt know what curd cheese was so we bought vintage cheddar cheese instead. We also didnt manage to find vanilla sugar so we tried mixing it out our own instead. We couldnt find creme frache so we bought pure cream intead. We also tried to modify the recipe a little by blending in oreo cookies into the base and the filling, attempting to have our very own "oreo cheesecake". The result? The cake (fyi,it didnt even look like a cake) looked like sh** and even tasted like **it. eew. Disappointingly, that wasn't our first failed attempt in the kitchen that day, our "spaghetti" for lunch wasnt edible either.*laughs*. So glad that there were 7-up with ruby red to help get rid of the lingering taste in our mouths and carol's funny pictures to laugh at. Otherwise, I'll be puking my way home. No more pasta and cheescakes for now...
